Join archaeologist Dr. Bob Goodby for a weeklong field experience in hands-on archaeology, as we learn and apply best practices in searching for Native American artifacts at a nearby site with known activity. During this mostly outdoor field course, we’ll learn the basics, from test pit digging and excavating to screening, mapping, and identification. Dr. Goodby will also share how his (and other) archaeological discoveries in the Monadnock Region have shed light on the lives of the Abenaki people. This outdoor field course will be physically demanding, requiring bending, digging, and long hours outside. For more information, contact Susie Spikol.
Monday, June 22 through Friday, June 26
9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Harris Center and a nearby field site
Cost: $300 for Harris Center supporters / $320 for all others
